# Tachimanga Family Sharing – Troubleshooting Guide
How to share Tachimanga Premium with your family and resolve common Family Sharing issues.
# Does Tachimanga support Family Sharing?
Yes! Tachimanga supports Apple's Family Sharing feature, allowing you to share eligible Premium purchases with up to five additional family members.
Family members can access shared Premium benefits without purchasing them separately. Follow the steps below to set up Family Sharing or troubleshoot any issues.
# Step 1 – Verify the original purchase
First, confirm that the original Premium purchase is active.
On the original purchaser's device:
- Open Tachimanga and check whether Premium is active.
- If Premium is not recognized, go to Settings → Get Premium and tap Restore Purchases.
- If necessary, check your purchase history through the App Store or Apple's Report a Problem (opens new window) website.
Make sure the Apple Account used for Media & Purchases is associated with the original purchase.
For Monthly and Yearly Premium, also confirm that the subscription is still active.
# Step 2 – Check Family Sharing settings
Confirm that the original purchaser and the affected family member belong to the same Apple Family Sharing group.
Tachimanga offers three Premium plans: Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime. The required Family Sharing settings depend on your plan.
# Lifetime Premium
Lifetime Premium is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It uses Apple's Purchase Sharing feature rather than subscription sharing.
Please verify the following:
- Family organizer: Open Settings → Family → Purchase Sharing and make sure Purchase Sharing is enabled.
- Original purchaser: Open Settings → Family → [Your Name] → Purchases and make sure Share My Purchases is enabled. Depending on your iOS version, this option may appear under Family → Purchase Sharing instead.
- Family member: On the device receiving Premium, check the same settings and make sure Share My Purchases is enabled for that family member's own account too.
- Hidden purchases: Make sure Tachimanga is not hidden from the original purchaser's App Store purchases.
All four conditions are important for sharing non-consumable in-app purchases.
Important: For Lifetime Premium, enabling Purchase Sharing only on the original purchaser's account is not enough. Both the purchaser and the family member receiving Premium need to enable it. After both have checked their settings, tap Restore Purchases again on the family member's device.
Note: Lifetime Premium will not appear in Apple's shared subscriptions list. This is normal and does not mean Family Sharing is unavailable.
# Monthly and Yearly Premium
Monthly and Yearly Premium are auto-renewable subscriptions. Eligible subscriptions can be shared independently of Purchase Sharing.
You do not need to enable Share My Purchases to share an eligible subscription.
On the original purchaser's device:
- Open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.
- Open the relevant Tachimanga subscription and enable Share with Family, if available.
- Depending on your iOS version, sharing controls may also appear under Manage Family Access → Share Eligible Subscriptions or Settings → Family → Subscriptions.
If no sharing option is available, the subscription may not be eligible for Family Sharing. Check Apple's guidance below or contact Tachimanga Support if you are unsure.
If the subscription was purchased before Family Sharing was enabled for that product, the purchaser may need to enable sharing manually.
Apple's official guides:

- Share subscriptions with family members (opens new window)
# Step 3 – Verify Apple Accounts
On the family member's device:
- Open Settings → Family and confirm that you belong to the same family group as the original purchaser.
- Tap [Your Name] → Purchases and check the Apple Account for Purchases. The exact labels may vary by iOS version.
- Open Settings → [Your Name] → Media & Purchases and check which Apple Account is being used for App Store purchases.
- Make sure the account used for App Store purchases matches the account configured for purchase sharing.
Important: The Apple Account used for iCloud may be different from the account used for Media & Purchases. If you use a secondary account for purchases, check that it is configured in your Family settings.
Each family member should use their own Apple Account. You do not need to sign in with the original purchaser's account on the family member's device.
For help checking these settings, see Apple Support – If you can't find your family's shared apps and content (opens new window).
# Step 4 – Restore Premium in Tachimanga
On the family member's device:
- Open Tachimanga.
- Go to Settings → Get Premium.
- Tap Restore Purchases.
- Wait for the restoration process to complete, then check whether Premium has been unlocked.
For Lifetime Premium purchases made before Family Sharing was enabled, a manual restore may be necessary.
For Monthly and Yearly Premium, shared entitlements are generally delivered automatically once subscription sharing is enabled. If Premium is not recognized, try Restore Purchases.
Please do not purchase Premium again while troubleshooting. Eligible family members should not need to purchase Premium separately.
# Step 5 – Additional troubleshooting
If Premium still cannot be restored, try the following steps.
# Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or iPad, reopen Tachimanga, and try Restore Purchases again.
# Update Tachimanga
Make sure you are using the latest version of Tachimanga available on the App Store.
# Check your internet connection
Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data. A stable connection is required to communicate with Apple's purchase services.
# Check Screen Time restrictions
Open Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions and review any restrictions related to App Store purchases.
# Check for hidden purchases
If the original purchaser has hidden Tachimanga from their App Store purchases, its in-app purchases and subscriptions may also be hidden from family members.
Check the original purchaser's hidden purchases and unhide the app if necessary. See Apple's shared-content troubleshooting guide (opens new window).
# Verify the sharing settings again
Confirm that:
- The original purchaser and affected family member belong to the same Family Sharing group.
- For Lifetime Premium, the family organizer has enabled Purchase Sharing, and both the purchaser and recipient have enabled Share My Purchases.
- For Monthly and Yearly Premium, the subscription is eligible for Family Sharing and subscription sharing is enabled.
- The family member is using the correct Apple Account for Media & Purchases.
For additional guidance, see Apple Support – If you can't find or use your in-app purchases (opens new window).
# Important: Avoid reinstalling Tachimanga
Uninstalling Tachimanga may delete your locally stored manga library, downloads, and settings.
We do not recommend reinstalling the app as a routine troubleshooting step. If reinstalling becomes necessary, save a valid backup of your data outside Tachimanga's app storage first. Backups do not include downloaded chapters or local source files, so save those separately.
# Frequently asked questions
# Why can't my family member restore Lifetime Premium when I already enabled Purchase Sharing?
Check Purchase Sharing on the family member's account as well. It needs to be enabled for both the original purchaser and the recipient, even if the recipient has no purchases of their own to share.
Once both accounts have Share My Purchases enabled, ask the family member to open Settings → Get Premium in Tachimanga and tap Restore Purchases again.
# Why doesn't Tachimanga appear in my shared subscriptions list?
This depends on your Premium plan.
Lifetime Premium is a non-consumable in-app purchase, not a subscription. Therefore, it will not appear in Apple's shared subscriptions list.
Monthly and Yearly Premium are subscriptions. If subscription Family Sharing is supported and enabled, they can be managed through Apple's subscription-sharing settings.
# Does each family member need to purchase Premium separately?
No, not if they are eligible to receive the shared purchase.
Family members can access shared Premium benefits without purchasing Premium again, provided that the product supports Family Sharing and the required settings are enabled.
# Do I need to enable Purchase Sharing for subscriptions?
No. Eligible Monthly and Yearly subscriptions can be shared even when Purchase Sharing is disabled.
However, Lifetime Premium is a non-consumable in-app purchase and requires Purchase Sharing to be configured correctly.
# Does Family Sharing also share my manga library and reading history?
No. Apple Family Sharing only shares eligible Premium purchase benefits.
Your manga library, reading history, downloads, and Tachimanga Sync account are managed separately. Family members do not automatically share the same manga library or reading progress.
# Can purchases made before Family Sharing was enabled still be shared?
Yes. Eligible previous purchases may also be shared.
For Lifetime Premium, family members may need to manually tap Restore Purchases to receive the shared entitlement.
For Monthly and Yearly Premium, the original subscriber may need to manually enable subscription sharing.
# What happens if someone leaves the Family Sharing group?
When a family member leaves the Family Sharing group or becomes ineligible for shared purchases, Apple may revoke access to Premium benefits obtained through Family Sharing.
# What if Restore Purchases completes but Premium remains locked?
First, verify that all Apple Account and Family Sharing settings are correct.
If everything is configured properly, there may be an issue retrieving or recognizing the shared purchase entitlement. Please contact Tachimanga Support with details about what happens when you tap Restore Purchases.
# Still need help?
If you've completed the steps above and Premium still cannot be restored, please contact Tachimanga Support.
